Empowering Farmers Through Collective Enterprise

Lehra Agro Producer Company Ltd. (LAPCL) is a Farmer Producer Company (FPC) incorporated under the Companies Act and based in Pharenda, Maharajganj district, Uttar Pradesh. Promoted and supported by Grameen Development Services (GDS), LAPCL operates as a farmer-owned, profit-oriented enterprise dedicated to improving the livelihoods of small and marginal farmers.

By functioning as a collective enterprise, LAPCL enables farmers to pool their resources, share best practices, achieve economies of scale, and participate effectively across the agricultural value chain—from input procurement and production to aggregation, value addition, and marketing.

Origin & Heritage

LAPCL traces its origins to 2003, when a group of progressive farmers formed an informal collective to tackle high input costs, substandard farm products, limited technical advice, and low produce prices.

Recognizing the need for a permanent farmer-owned institution, the founding members, with the support of Grameen Development Services, formally incorporated Lehra Agro Producer Company Ltd. in 2010 under the Companies Act, 1956.
